Learn To Lead is a program where you can be creative and make an impact in the lives of youth in your community. You will develop professional skills, gain real-world leadership experience, and pave the way for a successful future career.
Applicants residing in Manitoba and Ontario, with the ages 15 - 26, are invited to submit their applications.
You do not need to pay for any travel expenses and equipment needed. You will only have to bear the expenses for Police Record Check and Vulnerability Sector Check (if 18+).
The program will take place from October 2023 to April 2024. Priority will be given to the applicants who can attend all three in-person events in October, November and January, as well as attend virtual sessions. This program requires a commitment of 120 hours, which includes community service hours.
While Learn To Lead is a youth-led, similar to the core Scouting program, it focuses on professional development and mentorship opportunities. By creating and implementing your own program, customized for the needs of your local community, you will make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of youth in your area.
You only need the consent of a parent/guardian if you are under the age of 18 at the time of registration.
You’ll be able to go on adventures in a safe and inclusive environment, learn outdoor skills like fishing, canoeing, and camping while simultaneously honing skills like leadership, teamwork, public speaking, program creating and more.

No! You don’t need any previous Scouting experience to be eligible for this program.
Yes! The community service volunteer hours can be beneficial for your high school credit in the provinces of Ontario & Manitoba.
Anyone can apply for this program regardless of your immigration status as long as you reside in Manitoba or Ontario. The Learn To Lead program extends its arms to all!
