As an organization undergoing our own journey to understand our impact on Indigenous communities in Canada, we are encouraging members to build a common base understanding of Canada's broader Reconciliation journey and encourage a personal commitment to learning more.
As we begin the process, hearing from our Scouts Canada community is an important ongoing component of our journey. In this early stage, what are your biggest needs, thoughts, and suggestions? Join us in a listening session at your convenience! We would love to hear from you.
Your feedback will be anonymous, collected by notetakers. These sessions are not recorded, and we look forward to your contribution, while creating a safe and respectful space for all.
Our first listening session will be an open Consultation Session with Indigenous Scouters. This will be an opportunity to receive early advice and recommendations from our existing Indigenous community members. We are early in our journey. We invite our Indigenous members of the Scouting movement in Canada to have a conversation with volunteers, youth, and our Director of Diversity and Inclusion to recommend how our organization must go forward.
