Scouts is the Start of Working Together

Imagine a world where we all work together to make a positive difference. Team up with others to run an SDG project, work with another Section on a goal-related project or run a living library.

The previous 16 Sustainable Development Goals involve a variety of difficult worldwide issues, but do not underestimate your own impact to solve these complicated issues. By working with others, you can work efficiently to multiply your impact.  This is your call to action!  Improve the world by completing a sustainable development project which helps achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals we have listed some of the partners that helped us build activities.  

Examples of Projects

  • Goal 1: No Poverty.  Toronto Area Scouts and Venturers have organized and delivered over 27,000 Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund gift boxes each Christmas.  Link 
  • Goal 2: Zero Hunger.  Cub Adam Mohamed, and his Burnaby Lake Jamatkhana Cub Pack, collected 150 food items and $150 in cash for a local Food Bank.  Link 
  • Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.  Scout Shanza Khan of the 1st AFC Scout Group raised over $1000 for the Milton District Hospital Foundation to support her community.  Link 
  • Goal 5: Gender Equality.  Venturers and Rovers organized a Speaker Series with Canadian Senators on a variety of topics, including Gender Equality.  Link 
  • Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.  Scout Quinn Callander created and 3D printed hundreds of ear guards for front-line health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Link 
  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.  Cubs and Scouts from the 191st Baturyn Scout Group helped their community by cleaning up a local highway.  Link 
  • Goal 13: Climate Action.  The 23rd Napean Cub Pack planted trees with support from TD Tree Days. Link 
  • Goal 15: Life on Land.  Delta Waterfowl Organization and Scouts Canada Powassan worked together to assemble and place over 15 duck nesting boxes.  Link
