ScoutSafe App

ScoutSafe is Scouts Canada’s incident reporting app that allows Scouters, parents and youth to report incidents as they happen, enabling the Safe Scouting Team to respond to incidents in a more timely and proactive manner.

ScoutSafe is available for download on both Android and iOS devices. As a Scouter, parent, youth or staff member, you can join download the app on your smartphone or tablet. ScoutSafe is simply an addition to the reporting mechanisms in place. You can still report using the Incident Report Form and sending to Safe Scouting via email: safety@scouts.ca, Fax: 613-224-3571, or mailing to Scouts Canada: Safe Scouting, 1345 Baseline Rd, Ottawa On., K2C 0A7.

Injuries and property damage can be reported via the app. Youth protection issues must be reported to Safe Scouting using 1-800-339-6643.

If anyone is at immediate risk, please call 911 immediately. In the case of an emergency situation or if you need immediate assistance, please call Safe Scouting at 1-800-339-6643 (24 hours).

Yes, at Scouts Canada we are committed to protecting the privacy of our members, donors, and non-member participants, and support a general policy of openness about how we collect, securely store, use and disclose personal information. To learn more please refer to Scouts Canada’s privacy policy.

The report is sent directly to the Safe Scouting team, who review it and manage the incident. Once submitted, users will receive a message confirming receipt and a unique reference number that can be used to request a copy of the incident report.

If you wish to report an incident anonymously please contact the Safe Scouting Team by phone at 1-800-339-6643, or by mail to Safe Scouting Team at 1345 Baseline Rd, Ottawa, ON K2C 0A7.

Reports submitted through the ScoutSafe App will follow usual incident reporting procedure whereas the Safe Scouting department will inform Group, and Council Commissioners as required, but ensure confidentiality of a report when necessary.
