Welcome to Voyageur Council
Voyageur Council serves over 3,500 youth in 100 Groups throughout Eastern Ontario and the Outaouais. Our Groups are supported by a team of over 1,200 dedicated volunteers who bring our program to life. The Council generally covers the territory from Petawawa to Kingston to the Quebec border, and includes communities in and around Gatineau, Quebec.
With programs for youth aged 5 to 26, Scouts is built on a youth-led program that offers adventure, cooperation, generosity, and fun! Scouting makes a difference in the lives of children, youth, and young adults. Providing youth-led opportunities, members determine what areas they would like to grow in as they achieve new “firsts” and develop into global citizens. With a versatile array of program areas to focus on, Scouting is an inclusive organization that welcomes youth with diverse identities, interests, and goals.
Voyageur Council includes nine Scouting properties which provide members with a variety of locations to deliver exciting, year-round outdoor program. The Council also runs a vibrant residential summer camp program out of Camp Opemikon near Perth, ON for youth ages 7 to 16.
Whether it's canoeing or skating on the Rideau River, exploring the St. Lawrence Valley, hiking in the Laurentian Highlands, or simply meeting new people around a campfire, Scouts have fun adventures discovering new things and experiences they wouldn't discover elsewhere. Along the way, they develop into capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, better prepared for success in the world. Scouts is the start of something great. It starts with Scouts!
